Fusion 2012 is all about innovation. A quick walk through the exhibit hall at the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville proves that over and over. There are vendors that can help organizations improve their processes in accounts payable, accounts receivable, procure-to-pay, information management, and data capture.

But in the end, it’s up to the organizations themselves to come up with the innovative processes and bring in the solutions to make them work. That’s why attendees gather every year for this conference: to bring back ideas.

This week, the Huntington Bank Innovation Awards honored several organizations as leaders in financial operations innovation. The awards also named the vendors that helped these companies shine.

Walt Disney World took home the top award for the best practices of its accounts payable team, led by Andre Hale at Lake Buena Vista near Orlando. Hale appeared on stage Monday to accept the honor.

The Tim Hortons coffee restaurant company was named second runner-up, and KLN Family Brands was third runner-up. Several companies received an honorable mention: Force Protection, Lennox Industries, Moen, JCPenney, Macy’s, and Dean Foods.

The ceremony recognized these vendors as helpful to the companies named: AnyDoc, Brainware, Dolphin, Hyland Software, Lavante, Perceptive Software, and Sungard.
