Tom Bohn is president and CEO of The Institute of Financial Operations and its affiliates: International Accounts Payable Professionals (IAPP), International Accounts Receivable Professionals (IARP), National Association of Purchasing & Payables (NAPP), and The Association for Work Process Improvement (TAWPI). Tom joined IAPP in 2008 with more than 16 years of local, national, and international association experience, including five years with The Institute of Internal Auditors. At The IIA, he served as vice president of relationship management and as senior vice president of educational programs and operations. At the Central Florida YMCA, a 150,000-member wellness organization, he served as vice president of marketing and membership. He has a master's in business administration from the University of Central Florida.

Laureen Crowley is editor in chief and directs the editorial department of The Institute and its affiliates IAPP, IARP, NAPP, and TAWPI. A career journalist for nearly 30 years, she has written and edited for major metropolitan newspapers and magazines, including the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Orlando Sentinel, Internal Auditor, Orlando magazine, Where Orlando magazine, Caribbean Travel & Life, Islands, Sport Diver, and Me magazine. She is a former manager of online communications for The Institute of Internal Auditors.

Diane Sears

Senior Editor 

Diane Sears is the senior editor at The Institute and its affiliates IAPP, IARP, NAPP, and TAWPI. She writes, assigns, and edits cover stories, news features, blog postings, and other articles for the online and print publications. Diane is the author of Inside AP: A Guide to Today's Accounts Payable Profession and Tapping Your Inner Entrepreneur: Making the Move from Employee to Business Owner. She is also founder and president of DiVerse Media LLC, which helps clients write, publish and market nonfiction books. A career journalist, she has written for business and special-interest magazines including Florida Trend, Business Florida, Internal Auditor and UF Today. She previously served as the workplace reporter for the Orlando Sentinel newspaper and founding editor-in-chief of Venture Woman, a national magazine for women business owners.  

Frank Abagnale 

Frank W. Abagnale is one of the world's most respected authorities on the subjects of forgery, embezzlement, and secure documents. For more than 30 years, he has lectured to and consulted with hundreds of financial institutions, corporations, and government agencies around the world, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He lectures extensively at the FBI Academy and for the agency's field offices. More than 14,000 financial institutions, corporations, and law enforcement agencies use his fraud prevention programs. In 1998, he was selected as a distinguished member of Pinnacle 400 by CNN Financial News.  

 

Andrew Bartolini

Andrew Bartolini is a globally recognized expert in sourcing, procurement, accounts payable, and supply management. At Ardent Partners, he focuses his research and efforts on helping enterprises develop and execute strategies to achieve operational excellence within their procurement and finance departments. Andrew is also the publisher of CPO Rising, the first independent media site written for and about chief procurement officers and other procurement executives. He formerly served as vice president and group director of global supply management research at Aberdeen Group, where he was responsible for all associated research, services, and programs including the CPO Summit. 

Cheryl Clancy, CAPP   

Cheryl Clancy has more than 10 combined years as director of shared services for leading retail and manufacturing firms. She has been responsible for managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, lease accounting, fixed assets, bank reconciliations, check processing, vehicle administration, and customer/vendor database management. Clancy has two bachelor's degrees, in accounting and in marketing/retail sales, and a master of business administration in international business. She is a certified accounts payable professional (CAPP) and a member of The Institute's Editorial Advisory Committee.

Peter Goldmann 

Peter Goldmann has 25 years of experience as a business journalist and trainer, having launched, edited, and published numerous business trade periodicals covering small business, international trade, management strategy, banking, and personal finance. He is the author of Detecting and Preventing Fraud in Accounts Payable and Detecting and Preventing Fraud in Accounts Receivable, both published by The Institute of Financial Operations. He is a frequent contributor to leading industry publications on anti-fraud topics and has appeared on The Wall Street Journal This Morning and in The New York Times and Internal Auditor magazine.

Matthew R. Gomez 

Matt Gomez is a Florida-based marketing communications consultant with more than 20 years of experience in journalism, marketing, public relations, and media relations. A former full-time journalist, his articles have appeared in print and online in The Wall Street Journal, Associated Press, Agence-France Presse, NewsMax Media, and Boat International Media.

Sean Holton 

Sean Holton is an Orlando-based freelance writer who spent 25 years as an award-winning newspaper journalist. His work as a reporter, writer, and editor focused on land development, public policy, politics, and governmental issues, including nine years as a Washington, D.C., correspondent and bureau chief for the Orlando Sentinel. He formerly worked as an associate managing editor with a staff of 90 professional journalists. He has a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University and a bachelor's degree in English and political science from Rockhurst University.  

Albert G. Holzinger 

Al Holzinger is an association-management consultant and freelance writer specializing in accounting and auditing topics. He is editor of the CAE Bulletin, a bi-weekly newsletter for chief audit executives of Fortune 500 companies published by The Institute of Internal Auditors. Holzinger formerly was The IIA's  chief operating officer and guided the teams driving the development of the organization's educational materials including the award-winning Internal Auditor magazine. He previously held a top editorial staff post at Nation's Business magazine in Washington, D.C. A trained network engineer, Holzinger frequently serves as an instructor and speaker on business topics. 

Russell A. Jackson 

Russell A. Jackson is a freelance business writer based in West Hollywood, Calif. In his 25-year career, he has covered a variety of business processes, including accounts payable, internal auditing, benefits administration, and numerous other topics. He has even interviewed a rodeo clown.

Ellen Leith is the managing editor of Accounts Payable News, an online news facility for accounts payable professionals in the United Kingdom, offering advice and practical tips on today's best AP practices. Experienced in all aspects of AP, Leith regularly gives talks and conducts surveys and reports to facilitate knowledge sharing amongst industry experts. 

Chrys Olson 

Chrys Olson is accounts payable manager for Gaiam Inc. in Louisville, Colo. She has been managing people for more than 30 years and has been involved with accounts payable for 20. She has facilitated workshops for The Institute of Financial Operations and served as guest speaker at events across the country on how to motivate and build strong teams and manage change. She is a member of The Institute's Editorial Advisory Committee and is team leader for Ask the AP Experts. 

David Schmidt 

David Schmidt is a 32-year veteran of the receivables, credit, and collection management professions, and currently serves as a senior consultant with PayStream Advisors, specializing in revenue cycle management technologies. There he has been the lead analyst on a variety of reports covering business and consumer credit, collections, receivables document imaging, sales tax, and freight bill automation. Schmidt has also had hundreds of articles published in trade and business publications and is co-author of Power Collecting: Automation for Effective Asset Management.
